What Alex Teaches Us About Belonging -Strategies for teaching children with diverse skills in typical classroom settings using grade level curriculum and materials from first grade through high school.  Developing goals; creating learning materials and work activities using curriculum modification, adaptations and partial participation; promoting social growth by encouraging strong, reciprocal friendships with typical children. Actual examples of goals, classroom work, and friendship activities will be shared.

-Methods for successfully implementing the strategies of positive behavior supports in typical classroom settings.

What Alex Teaches Us About "Differences" -"We All Fit In" is a lesson plan designed for and presented to school students, which builds understanding, respect, dialogue and friendship among typical students and those with disabilities.  It can be tailored to accommodate the needs of elementary, middle school, and high school students and is a necessary component for building successful social programs for children with disabilities in inclusive settings.
